Strictly speaking, Samsung’s interests in the automotive segment are widely represented: vehicles are offered under this brand in the home market of South Korea, and since 2017, the company owns Harman International Industries, a prominent player in the automotive entertainment market. As noted Reuters, at the quarterly reporting event, representatives of Samsung Electronics expressed their readiness to spend large sums in the next three years to acquire the necessary assets.

It is not specified in which market segment the Samsung acquisitions will focus, but experts believe that it can be just about the automotive business – taking into account the trend of switching to autopilot, of course. Samsung Electronics will also build new contract manufacturing facilities for semiconductor components for third-party customers. In addition to two sites in South Korea, the company is also eyeing the administrative center of Texas, where it already has a core business.
