The European Commission will present new measures to reduce gas prices
MOSCOW, 12 Oct — PRIME. The European Commission (EC) plans next week to present a new package of measures aimed at reducing demand for electricity, curbing gas prices, as well as joint purchases of this raw material. This was stated by the European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.

According to her, the proposals of the EC in the field of energy will be focused on four main areas.
“First, we will encourage a reduction in demand, and second, we will ensure solidarity between member countries,” the official said.
In addition, the EC plans to intervene in the field of gas prices. The agency will also facilitate joint fuel purchases, Simson added.
