BRUSSELS, 11 Oct – PRIME. The European Union is ready to expand cooperation with Algeria in the field of procurement of “blue fuel” and offers the country a long-term strategic partnership, European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson said at a press conference in Algiers, which was broadcast on the website of the European Commission.

Algeria wants to increase gas supplies to France
“Our relationship is based on a very strong foundation, Algeria is and continues to be a very important and reliable exporter of natural gas to the EU. Europe is ready to expand this cooperation. As relations with Russia, the largest gas supplier to the EU, are irreversibly destroyed, we turn to reliable EU suppliers to close this gap. We offer Algeria a long-term strategic partnership,” she said.
At the same time, the European Commission noted that Russia is no longer the largest supplier of gas to the EU, now it is Norway.
