Even the most optimistic forecasts do not give the share of oil in the global energy balance below 50% by the middle of this century. Many experts recognize natural gas as the optimal energy transition fuel, so its consumption will only increase in the near future.

According to the State Commission on Mineral Reserves, the explored reserves of oil in Russia in all categories amount to 19 billion tons, gas condensate – another 2.2 billion tons. But stocks have a broad classification. For example, if we talk about recoverable oil and condensate, there are more than 31 billion tons of oil and condensate, and 69 billion tons of predicted ones.

The world is learning to consume consciously by optimizing resource consumption. Oil can also be used more rationally. According to the interlocutor of the agency, this is possible due to more advanced processing technologies that allow obtaining more useful product from a unit of raw materials, as well as various energy-saving technologies, in particular, reducing fuel consumption by internal combustion engines.

Maxim Kanishchev, director of the Anselm Research Center, agrees with him. In his opinion, the main direction of the rational use of oil is not extraction, but processing and consumption.
