MOSCOW, 29 Sep — PRIME. Russia denied its involvement in the Nord Stream accidents, Moscow has never said that it does not want to export gas to Europe. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry wondered when Russia decided “to no longer want to supply energy resources to Western, so-called partners,” commenting on Western politicians’ statements about Moscow’s involvement in the Nord Stream emergency.
“Throughout these decades, no matter what, no matter the cold war, no hot outbursts of hatred against us, despite sanctions pressure, despite the hybrid war and all sorts of other nasty things that have been thrown at our country, no one has ever at one level, he did not hint that we would not supply our energy resources to European citizens, this has never happened before,” the diplomat stressed.
According to Zakharova, Russia has always been a reliable exporter of energy resources.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry added that the area of the island of Bornholm, where the leak occurred, was “stuffed” with NATO military infrastructure.
“And what, maybe NATO bases didn’t conduct exercises there, American soldiers weren’t quartered on the territory of neighboring countries? No? There’s nothing like that?” Zakharova said.
The diplomat noted that in July 2022, the alliance conducted exercises in that region using deep-sea equipment.
The press secretary of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that the United States, through the mouth of a Pentagon representative, had already declared its non-involvement in the incident.
“And anyway, I have a question then. It turns out that the Pentagon refutes the promise of its president?” she said.
According to Zakharova, the United States needs to explain and admit to the situation around the Nord Stream incidents.
