The senator announced the return of the world to the era of coal and firewood
MOSCOW, 19 Sep — PRIME. The global energy crisis has forced countries to abandon “green” energy and return to the era of coal and firewood, said Vladimir Dzhabarov, First Deputy Head of the International Committee of the Federation Council.
“Even nuclear energy is being revived in Germany. That’s the end of the fairy tale about green energy,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the problem of the energy crisis will become the main one during the high-level week at the UN General Assembly, which begins on Monday.
Western countries have imposed unprecedented sanctions against Russia in connection with a special operation in Ukraine. Some of the measures also affect the energy sector. This led to the aggravation of the energy crisis in Europe, the region was faced with a shortage of fuel and rising prices for it.
Last week, the European Commission published recommendations for overcoming the energy crisis. Thus, the agency proposes to reduce the demand for electricity during peak hours by at least 5% and withdraw excess profits from energy companies. At the same time, there is no talk of limiting prices for Russian gas in the release.
