Ukraine returned the excise tax on fuel

MOSCOW, 21 Sep — PRIME. The Verkhovna Rada supported the return of the excise tax on fuel canceled in March, said the deputy of the Ukrainian parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

“The Rada returned the excise tax on fuel. The corresponding bill was supported in general,” he said in his telegram channel.

According to him, this measure was supported by 255 deputies.

Zheleznyak clarified that the excise tax on gasoline, diesel and biofuel will be one hundred euros per thousand liters, and on gas – 52 euros for the same volume. VAT for all types of fuel will still be seven percent. At the same time, excise tax will not be levied for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the deputy noted.

The law enters into force on the day following its publication. Excises are expected to come into effect at the end of September.
