Update Windows 10 by downloading the May 2020 Update 2004

If the upgrade tool ends with a message “Thank you for installing the latest version of Windows 10” without doing anything, there are two possibilities: that the latest version is already installed or that it is not yet detected.
First of all, therefore, Check which version of Windows 10 is installed on your PC: Open Settings> System> System Information and check the Windows specifications below. If it says Version 2004 then it means that we are already using the latest version.

The update process will certainly take longer if done through the Media Creation Tool, because it is like a new installation of Windows 10; however it should go smoothly, with the possibility of going back in case of problems and, above all, nothing will change on the PC and files, programs or apps will not be touched.
If the update cannot be installed because some incompatibility is detected but it is not specified, it means that Windows 10 is not ready for our PC and we just have to wait for Microsoft to correct the problem. Before proceeding with the update it would be better to disconnect any USB stick and remove any SD card from the computer.
