How to change WhatsApp wallpaper
To change wallpaper in WhatsApp we will have to act in the app settings or chat settings, according to our needs. To change the background of all chats, open the WhatsApp app, press the three dots at the top right (or on the iPhone in the menu at the bottom right), press the Settings and let’s go to the menu Chat. Open this menu we press on the item Background, we press on Change and choose which wallpaper to apply to all app chats.
On Android smartphones and iPhones you can choose to use any Photo of the camera roll or the gallery or even one background with solid color, so as to perhaps put a black or dark colored background that is less annoying in the evening.
In addition to the generic settings we can change WhatsApp wallpaper even to a single chat, both on single chats and in groups. To proceed, we open the chat of the contact or group, press the button with three dots at the top right (or on the iPhone, press on the name of the contact or chat) then press on the item Background.
The background chosen here, which can also be a photograph, will be applied only to that chat, in order to make it different from all other conversations. To make the chat more readable, you can choose a degree of transparency of the background so that it does not bother reading.
The option to use a custom image is not available on the version WhatsApp web, where, however, it is possible to change the color of the chat background in the general settings.
How to download wallpapers for WhatsApp
If you want to use a custom background in WhatsApp chats, we can download it and save it in the gallery without any problems. To make things easier you can download an application to download and choose wallpapers for the chat.
For Android, WhatsApp provides a separate wallpaper app called WhatsApp Wallpaper which is automatically downloaded if you choose to use the Wallpaper library. This collection, however, is really limited to very few images and has been like this for several years now, with no additions or changes.
To make the chats of our WhatsApp app very beautiful we can download some wallpaper and image applications different that we can identify in the stores:

Other tricks to personalize WhatsApp
On WhatsApp it is possible customize chats by changing the cover image of group conversations in order to make them easier to recognize. To proceed, we open the conversation, touch the title at the top to enter the information and touch the image at the top to be able to change it. Anyone can change the picture of a group, unless the administrator has changed the group settings limiting the ability to change the picture and description for all participants.
Another way to personalize WhatsApp is to use custom emojis and stickers, as seen in our how-to guides add Emoticons and Smilies in WhatsApp.
Conclusions
Those who often use WhatsApp on their phone can at any time customize it according to our tastes, choosing a different wallpaper for personal chats and a cheerful or funny background for group chats. The default wallpapers are just one of the choices, as we can upload a custom photo or HD wallpaper downloaded from specific apps.
