I have tested all four of the original Samsung hearing aid models currently on the market, and while their price may be similar, the experience they offer is different. In addition, we have tested NOT original headphones and we recommend NOT TO WASTE your money on them, even if they are worth a third of the price.

Low-end headphones

Hearing aids, headphones or helmets included in the box of Samsung Galaxy low-end devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy Core 2 or the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, leave to be desired and are not comparable with those included in high-end devices such as the line Samsung Galaxy S.

Due to the plastic that comes into contact with the ear, they cause discomfort after wearing them for a while. They also offer little isolation from ambient noise, something that can force the volume to be raised higher, which is not good for the ears. The sound quality is also inferior to that of higher-end headphones. Another problem is the minimal control they offer. There is only the microphone and a button that serves to play / pause the audio or answer and hang up calls. There are no volume controls.

High-end headphones

Hearing aids included in high-end devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, S5 and even in the mini versions of these, such as the S3 mini, S4 mini or S5 mini.

Headphones from the Samsung Galaxy S line (Samsung’s high-end) are more comfortable due to their ergonomic design. Also because of the rubbers or silicones that are included (various sizes), which are the ones that actually come into contact with the ear and adapt to it. In addition, its sound quality is notably superior.

There are currently three headphone models that come with these expensive cell phones. Personally I prefer the one in the image above, or the similar variant that comes in the S8 and S9. This is due to its earplug design and the rubbers, which offer better isolation from ambient noise, which cannot be said about the model in the image below (although if the earplug does not suit you, you may see them as ideal). The only advantage of these headphones is the flat cable, which is usually easier to untangle.

Hearing aids included in the latest Galaxy S, such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S7. Unlike the previous two that have a round cable, these headphones are flat cable.

Unlike the inexpensive ones, any of these three headphones do include volume buttons, in addition to the main control. These can also be used to change the song. There are apps like QuickClic or Headset Control Center that offer this functionality, if it is not found natively.

Original Samsung hearing aids

Differentiating or distinguishing original Samsung hearing aids is a matter of hearing. These have good sound quality. It is clear and crystal clear. They are heard at the same level in both ears. Because this is difficult for an inexperienced ear to detect, always purchase hearing aids from an official Samsung store or authorized dealer.

Please DO NOT BUY Samsung hearing aids at any cell phone store, because most of them sell fake or fake hearing aids. Even in reputable online stores like Amazon these trinkets abound.

The big problem with them is that the sound is opaque, “flat” and is heard far away. It is even unbalanced and sometimes it is heard more in one ear than in the other. They can be damaged within a month of purchase and only one side remain working. Physically they may look good, but the audio experience is TERRIBLE. This is not easy to identify either, so the suggestion again is to go to an official Samsung store.

Do not trust at all what the seller says. Neither of the packaging of the headphones. You can see it in a well presented box, but it can fool you.

You can also rely on the price of original Samsung headphones. On the Samsung website, the cheapest headphones, similar to those mentioned in this article, are priced at $ 30. Non-original hearing aids are commonly available for a price of around $ 10. For that price, it is much wiser to opt for third-party alternatives, like the Panasonic Ergofit, which have a tremendous reputation at a similar price. Their only downside is that they don’t have volume controls, but if it’s the one for the sound, you’re sure to be safe from the very poor experience of fake Samsung headphones.
