How to change payment method on eBay before buying

It’s possible change payment method on eBay from your account settings, choosing whether to associate your account with it PayPal account or one credit / debit card.

Alternatively, it is possible to select the payment option of your interest even during the purchase phase of any item for sale on the famous shopping site. In the latter case, in addition to PayPal and payment card, you can choose one of the other payment solutions offered by the seller, such as Bank transfer, check, Postal order e mark. Although, for a matter of security and guarantees against possible fraud, it is always better to choose PayPal. Having clarified this, to proceed from computer, linked to the eBay main page and, if you have not already done so, log in to your account: then click on the option Log in located at the top left, enter your data in the fields Email or username e Password and press the button Log in.

At this point, click on the item Ciao [nome]!, at the top left, select the option Account settings from the menu that appears and, in the newly opened page, locate the section Payments.

Now, if your intention is to link your PayPal account to eBay, select the option PayPal account and click on the button Connect your PayPal account. In the new screen that appears, enter your PayPal account details in the fields Email address e Password and press the buttons Log in e Go back to eBay, to complete the link between the two accounts.

If you have second thoughts, you can retrace your steps and disconnect PayPal from eBay at any time. To do this, access the screen again Payments, select the option PayPal account, locate the section Buying and selling on eBay and click on the item Do not link accounts.

If, on the other hand, you want to associate a credit or debit card with your eBay account (circuit cards are accepted Visa, MasterCard, Maestro e American Express, including rechargeable like HYPE, N26, Flowe e Revol), click on the options Ciao [nome]! e Account settings, click on the item Payments and, in the new open page, click on the option Add payment option.

Then put the check mark next to the item Credit card, click on the button Keep it going, enter your payment card details in the fields Card number, Expiration date, Security code, Name e Surname (in the latter two fields it is necessary to enter the name and surname of the cardholder) and press the button add, to add the card in question to your account.

To delete a payment card that you no longer want to use on eBay, instead, access the section again Payments, locate the card you are interested in and click on the option Remove twice in a row.

As I mentioned earlier, you can add a payment method even before completing the purchase of any product for sale on eBay. In this case, if you have already added the item you wish to purchase to your cart, click on the del icon shopping cart, at the top right, press the button Go to the payment form and, in the new screen displayed, put the check mark next to the payment method you prefer (eg. PayPal, Add new card etc.).

If you have chosen to pay via PayPal or credit / debit card, you must know that the payment is immediate and the payment method chosen will be automatically associated with your eBay account (you can also use it for future purchases without having to re-enter the data). For all other payment methods, however, you will have to wait for the communication from the seller and then proceed to pay for your purchase.

Likewise, you can proceed too from smartphones and tablets using theeBay app for devices Android (also available on alternative stores for devices without Google services) e iPhone/iPad.

After starting the app in question and logging into your account, tap on the item My eBay located in the bottom menu and, in the new screen displayed, select the option Payments. Now, press the button Add payment option, choose the option Credit card and, on the screen Add credit card, enter your payment card details in the appropriate fields. Then press the button add And that’s it.

If, on the other hand, you want to pay with PayPal, you should know that it is possible to associate this payment method with your eBay account only during the payment procedure. In that case, click on the icon shopping cart, at the top right, tap the button Go to the payment form, tap on the item Pay with and check the option next to the option PayPal.

At this point, tap the button Pay with PayPal, enter your account details in the fields Email or mobile number e Password and press the buttons Log in e Pay now, to complete the payment via PayPal.

How do you say? Would you like to pay by credit / debit card and haven’t added one yet from your eBay account settings? If so, select the option Pay with, put the check mark next to the item Add a new card and frame it with the camera of your device, to insert the data automatically.

Alternatively, tap on the option Enter manually, enter all the required data in the appropriate fields and press the buttons Fine e Confirm and pay, to proceed with the payment.

How to change payment method on eBay after purchase

If you are wondering if it is possible change payment method on eBay after purchase, you should know that the famous shopping site does not have a feature that allows you to change the payment option independently.

To do this, it is necessary to contact the seller and expressly request to change the payment method chosen during the purchase procedure, provided that the payment has not yet been made.

To contact a seller from computer, linked to the eBay main page, log into your account and click on the option My eBay, top right. In the new screen that appears, locate the section Orders, click on the option Other actions related to the order of your interest and click on the item Contact the seller from the menu that opens.

At this point, put the check mark next to the option Payment and Payment Form, press the button Contact the seller, enter yours message in the appropriate field and click on the button Send the message, to send your request to the seller.

If you prefer to proceed da smartphone o tablet, start the eBay app, tap on the item My eBay and select the option Shopping from the menu that is proposed to you. Then press the button Order details related to the order of your interest, locate the box Information about the object and select options Other actions e Contact the seller.

Then press on the item Object, select the option Payment question, enter yours message in the appropriate field and press the button Send, at the top right, to send the message and request the seller to be able to change the payment method you selected during the purchase phase.

At this point, all you have to do is wait for the response from the seller and, if he accepts your request, follow the instructions provided in his message.

If you followed the directions I gave you in the previous lines of this guide, you should be able to change the payment method associated with your eBay account.
