How to connect your AirPods to your PS4? – Easy Steps

How to connect your AirPods to a PS4

Before you can start pairing your AirPods, you’ll need to get a Bluetooth adapter. Amazon has some great options, and you just have to decide how you want to connect. USB ports on your TV or PS4, while others pair with the 3.5mm headphone jack on your DualShock controller.

1. Press the sync buttons on the adapter and charging case of your AirPods.
2. Wait for an indication that your AirPods are paired, then open the Settings menu on your PS4.
3. Go to Input Devices.
4. Choose Headphones connected to controller.
5. Make sure Output Device is set to USB Headset (USB Audio Device).
6. Choose Headphones as the output and select All Audio.

How to connect AirPods with PS5

Those of you with PlayStation 5 will be happy to know that you can follow the same steps listed above. Sony hasn’t added Bluetooth support in its latest console, so you’ll want to make sure your adapter is up to the task. Go through the connection process as explained above and make sure your AirPods are fully charged. You are testing your audio and not getting the results you expect, try the following:

1. Head to your Settings menu from the home screen.
2. Locate the Sound section.
3. Choose the Audio Output option.
4. Select Output device.
5. Choose your Bluetooth device on the next screen.

You should also note that the AirPods you connect to your PS4 or PS5 won’t offer mic support, so you’ll need to grab a gaming mic or try a larger headset.
