How to fix Windows Installer error code 2755 in Windows 11/10

Solution 1 – Create an installation folder in the Windows directory

1. Press Windows + E to open the File Browser.

2. In the navigation bar, type the path indicated below

C:Windows

3. Inside the Windows file, the right button of the mouse in the empty space and choose New -> Folder to create a new folder in this directory.

4. Click Continue if you are prompted for confirmation to continue creating the folder.

5. In the User account control flagclick on Yes to allow changes to be made to the device.

6. Name this new folder as installer and hit Get into to save the name.

Note: The installer is a protected folder, so it will not be visible in the folder list once it is created. To view hidden protected folders in File Explorer, follow the steps below:

• Click on the three horizontal dots at the top left and select Options.

• At Folder options window, go to the Vista tab.
• At Advanced settings section, low files and folders, you need Mark off the option Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).

• Click on Yes in the window with a warning message.

• You will now be able to see the installer folder. Once you are done checking the hidden folder, make sure Mark off the above option, since such folders contain files that are needed to start and run Windows.

7. Restart your computer and check if you can install the application without any problem.

Solution 2 – Disable encryption in the apps configuration file

1. Go to the location of the installation file for the app you were trying to install.

2. The right button of the mouse in this file and choose Properties.

3. In the General tab, click the Advanced button on the attributes section at the bottom.

4. In the Advanced Attributes window, Mark off the option Encrypt content to protect data at Compress or encrypt attributes section.

5. Click OK to close the Attributes window.

6. Finally click on Request and then in OK in the main Setup File Properties window.

Solution 3 – Add SYSTEM as a user for the configuration file

1. The right button of the mouse in the problematic applications installation file and select Properties.

3. Click on the Edit… button under the Group or user names section.

4. In the permissions window, touch the Add… button.

5. Type SYSTEM (in upper case) in the text box below Enter the names of the objects to select at Select Users or Groups cash register.

1. Open the To run dialog using the windows and r combination of keys on your keyboard.

2. Type services.msc and hit Get into to open the Services window.
