How to install CuteFishOS – GEEK MATTER – Easy Steps

CutefishOS is a beautiful operating system built on Ubuntu that provides users with a convenient and easy experience. Use the Cutefish desktop environment. Here’s how you can install the CutefishOS operating system on your computer.

Downloading CutefishOS

To download CutefishOS, head over to the official website. Once on the website, find the download button and click on it with your mouse. When you select this button, a download page will appear.

On the download page, there are two download links. One link is a MEGA link and another is a direct link. For best results, select the “Direct link”. Once you’ve clicked on the link, CutefishOS will start downloading to your computer.

Please note that this version of CutefishOS is a beta version for developers. This operating system is still working and can be unstable in some cases. When the download is complete, insert a USB flash drive into the USB port and skip to the next section of the guide.

Creating a CutefishOS USB

CutefishOS must be configured on a USB flash drive to install a computer. To configure the operating system on a USB flash drive, you need to download the Etcher program. Etcher is cross-platform and makes setting up bootable USB installers extremely easy.

Head over to the official website to get your hands on the latest Etcher. Once on the Etcher website, download the application, install it on your computer, and launch it. Then follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Paso 1: Find the “From File” button and click on it with your mouse. When you select this button, a pop-up window will appear on the screen. Using this pop-up window, find the CutefishOS file on your computer and select it.

Paso 2: After selecting the CutefishOS ISO file, click the “Select Destination” button. Then choose your USB flash drive from the menu to update the ISO file of CutefishOS on your computer.

Paso 3: Find the “Flash!” inside the Etcher app and click on it with your mouse. Once you have selected the button, the Etcher app will start copying CutefishOS to your USB flash drive. This process will take a long time.

When the update process is complete, close the Etcher application on your computer. Once the application is closed, restart your computer in BIOS. Next, configure your BIOS so that it can boot from the USB flash drive.

CutefishOS Installation

To install CutefishOS on your computer, follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Paso 1: Load to the CutefishOS desktop. Once you’ve loaded it up, look for the launcher icon on the dock (rocket icon). Click on the launcher and select the “Install Cutefish” icon to open the operating system installer.

Paso 2: After launching the Cutefish OS installer, you will see a welcome screen. Select your preferred language from the menu (if the installer did not detect it automatically). Click the “Next” button to continue.

Paso 3: Now you need to select your time zone. Choose your time zone and click the “Next” button to confirm your choice using the map. A time zone is required for Cutefish to set the correct system time.

Stage 4: Once you have chosen a time zone, you must select a keyboard layout. By default, Cutefish will detect your keyboard automatically. However, you can choose the design you want.

Paso 5: Now you need to select a partition scheme. Choose “Erase Disk” and allow Cutefish OS to reboot to your hard drive for best results. Otherwise choose “Manual partition” and configure something yourself.

Note: Make sure to select “Change to file”. By default, Cutefish is not configured to configure Swap. However, if you want to suspend your PC or put it into hibernation, you will need this feature.

Paso 6: With your partition scheme set up, you will have to set up a username, as well as your computer’s name and password. Using the text boxes, configure everything. Then click the “Next” button to go to the next page in the installer.

Paso 7: Now that your user account is set up, Cutefish will display a summary of what it will do to your PC during installation. Please read the installation summary carefully. Find the “Install” button and select it to start the installation process when it is done.

Paso 8: Upon selecting the “Install” button, Cutefish will ask you to confirm your choice of installation. There is no going back, so only choose this button if you are sure you want to continue.

After confirming, Cutefish will start installing on your computer. This process shouldn’t take more than a few minutes. You will see an “All done” message when the process is complete. Restart your computer to start using Cutefish OS.
