How to play Total War: WARHAMMER on Linux – Easy Steps

Total War: Warhammer is a Turn-based Real-time Tactics video game developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega. It takes place in the War Hammer 40K universe. This is how you can play it on your Linux PC.

Make Total War: WARHAMMER work on Linux

Total War: WARHAMMER is a native Linux video game, but it can only be played on Linux with the help of Steam. For this reason, we will have to go over how to configure the official Steam Linux client.

Instalar Steam

To get the official Steam Linux client working on your computer, open a terminal window. You can open a terminal window by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T on the keyboard. Or search for “Terminal” in the application menu and run it that way.

With the terminal window open and ready to use, the installation can begin. Follow the distribution-specific installation instructions below to run the Steam client.

Ubuntu

To install Steam on your Ubuntu system, you will need to use the fit to install command below.

sudo apt install steam

Debian

Steam works on Debian. However, users need to download the Steam DEB package and install it instead of configuring it through the ‘Main’ software repository. To get the Steam DEB package, use the following wget download command.

wget https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/client/installer/steam.deb

After downloading the latest Steam DEB package to your computer, you can begin the installation. Using the dpkg command, configure the application.

sudo dpkg -i steam.deb

Arch Linux

Arch Linux users can install the Steam program as long as the “multilib” software repository is enabled. To configure this repository, open the /etc/pacman.conf file in your favorite text editor (as root).

Once the text file is open as root, find the line “multilib” and remove the # symbol. Then remove the # symbol from the lines directly below. Finally, re-sync the official software repositories and install Steam.

sudo pacman -Syy

sudo pacman -S steam

Fedora / OpenSUSE

If you want to install Steam on Fedora or OpenSUSE Linux, you can do so with the software repositories included with the operating system out of the box. However, Steam’s Flatpak version works much better, so we suggest installing that version instead.

Flatpak

To get the Flatpak version of Steam up and running, you will first need to install the Flatpak runtime on your computer. To configure the runtime, follow our tutorial.

Once you’ve set up the Flatpak runtime on your computer, the Steam installation can begin. Using the two commands below, configure Steam on your system.

flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

flatpak install flathub com.valvesoftware.Steam

Instalar Total War: WARHAMMER en Linux

Now that the Steam application is installed on your computer, launch it. You can start the Steam program on your computer by searching for it in the application menu.

Once Steam is open, follow the step-by-step instructions below to get Total War: WARHAMMER working on Linux.

Paso 1: Find the “Store” button within the Steam application and click on it with your mouse. When the “Store” button is selected, Steam will load the Steam storefront.

In the Steam storefront, there is a search box. Click the search box with your mouse and type “Total War: WARHAMMER” in the box. Then press the Get into to view the search results.

Paso 2: See the Steam Store search results for “Total War: WARHAMMER.” Once you’ve found the game in the search results, select it with your mouse. In the store search, clicking on “Total War: WARHAMMER” will load the Steam store page for Total War: WARHAMMER.
