LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a data transmission technology that currently makes it possible to connect to the Internet at “high speed” from a mobile device. One of the reasons LTE speed varies from country to country is the use of different versions or categories of LTE. There are currently 16 categories [3], each with different network capabilities. For example, while a category 3 LTE network (which is the most used category in the world right now [4]) can reach a maximum speed of approximately 100 Mbps, an LTE category 4 network can achieve a maximum speed of around 150 Mbps. Of course, these are only theoretical values, as the actual values ​​are much lower as indicated above. A category 0 LTE network can reach a maximum speed of only 1 Mbps, a value that could be surpassed by the best 3G network.

In conclusion, the 4G LTE that is being sold right now is not actually 4G technically speaking. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) itself I agree the relationship of both terms in 2010.
