How to find a person by phone number

Since not all telephone numbers are present in public directories – especially those of mobile phones, for which there are no official directories – I cannot guarantee you 100% that at the end of your search you will actually be able to trace the identity of whoever you are. called. However, as they say in these cases, there is no harm in trying.

Therefore, use the services that I will list in the next paragraphs – many of which are of a collaborative nature, that is, made with the contributions of the users themselves – and you will see that, with a bit of luck, you could actually go back to the holder of the number you give days makes your phone ring all the time. WhatsApp

The first solution that I recommend you to try for find a person with their phone number is WhatsApp. By saving the number on WhatsApp, in fact, you may be able to trace the identity of the person who hides behind the latter by examining the account information possibly associated with the number in question (provided that such information, such as the profile photo, is visible ). Here, then, is how to save a number on WhatsApp.

• Your Android – start WhatsApp, presses on the card Chat, tap on the symbol of white speech bubble on green background, presses on the symbol (⋮) and tap on thelittle man with the symbol (+) beside him. Therefore, fill out the contact form specifying the telephone number of your interest and tap on the item Save. Once the number has been saved, remember to update the contact list by pressing the symbol (⋮) (from the list of WhatsApp contacts) and selecting the wording Refresh.
• Your iPhone – open WhatsApp, tap on the item Chat, presses the icon of pencil with paper (top right) and tap on the item New contact. Save, therefore, the telephone number of your interest in the appropriate text field and tap on the item Fine (twice in a row).

At this point, go to the tab Chat of WhatsApp, presses the icon of speech bubble (on Android) or the icon of the pencil with paper (on iPhone), find the person you are interested in and tap theirs profile photo. If the photo is visible and shows the face of the person in question (or, in any case, some detail that leads back to them), you may be able to understand who they are (if you know them).

Who’s calling?

A collaborative service that can be used without registration and, above all, without sharing one’s number in public databases is Who’s calling?. This portal allows you to find numbers from call centers and other known “annoyances”, thanks to user feedback. It is also available as an app for Android e iOS, where it allows you to locate annoyances and automatically block their calls.

To use it, go to hers home page and write the number of your interest in the field Search for phone number. Next, click on the button CIRCLES and see if there is any feedback on the numbering you are looking for. If there are, take them into account to trace the identity of the person who contacted you.

Truecaller

Truecaller is one of the most used services to trace a person’s identity starting from his or her phone number. Given that Truecaller’s database houses myriads of phone numbers, there’s a good chance the number you’re looking for is in the latter. If you are wondering how TrueCaller has such a rich database, I’ll explain it to you right away.

The Truecaller app, which allows you to block calls from known annoyances (call centers, telemarketers, etc.), requires free registration to the service and the publication of your number in its public list to work. Find more information about it in the guide in which I explain the operation of the apps to block calls and in Truecaller terms of use. This means, therefore, that to use the service you must be willing to make this compromise regarding your privacy: consider it well before proceeding.

If this is clear to you, connect to the Truecaller homepage, type the number of your interest in the field Search a phone number and click on the symbol of magnifying glass to start your search (you can also change the country code using the menu on the left).

Then, log in by “passing” yours account Google or for your account Microsoft and follow the instructions on the screen to log in (if you are asked to share the address book, do not consent).

Once logged in, you will be able to find out if the number you are looking for is present in the Truecaller database. If so, you will be able to view a card containing the main information available regarding the number you are looking for.

White pages

One of the best services to look up landline numbers is White pages, which allows you to find the numbers of private citizens and professionals (and to perform the reverse search). It also contains some mobile numbers, but these are mainly contact details for professionals and companies, not individuals.

The name of PagineBianche is almost always compared to the paper book of the same name but now the service is also available online in the form of a website and on portable devices, in the form of an application for Android e iOS / iPadOS. Its use is really intuitive and, above all, it does not require any registration.

To access PagineBianche, connect to main page of the service, click the tab telephone number, type the number you want to search for in the field Telephone number and start the search by clicking on the button search for.

If you wish, you can also search using other methods made available by PagineBianche. For example, you can start your search by starting with a person’s name. To do this, click on the tab Name and type the name of the person you are looking for in the field where the wording is present Name, Surname or Company name, “Narrow” your search by indicating in the field Location, address the place where the person you are looking for is located and, finally, click on the button search for.

If you want to search from an address instead, click on the tab address and enter in the field place, address, house number the address from which to start to trace a phone number and start the search by clicking on the button search for.

Yellow Pages

Also Yellow Pages it is a useful tool for finding telephone numbers, as it allows you to easily find the contacts of professionals and companies in a simple and intuitive way.

To use it, go to hers main page, select (if necessary) the tab telephone number (on the right), write the number of your interest in the appropriate text field and click on the button search for located on the right. If there are details about the numbering you are looking for, they will be shown to you in the new page that has opened.

Google

“The simplest solutions are always the best ones”. How true this sentence is! If the services I mentioned to you in the course of this article did not allow you to trace the holder of the number who has been calling you for days and whose identity you do not know, try doing a simple search on Google.

To do this, connect to the first page of the famous search engine, type the number you are interested in in the text bar and click on the button Search with Google to start the search.

On the page that opens, search results may actually appear that match the number you searched for (especially if, for example, it is a professional who has published his contact details online).

Other useful solutions

I conclude this tutorial by proposing other useful solutions to proceed with the search for telephone numbers. See which of these alternatives may be right for you.

• Google Phone app – basing its operation on the Google database, this app allows you to get information about the caller almost instantly, as long as the Internet connection is active and the special function is enabled.
• Tellows – it is a collaborative online service through which it is possible to identify telephone numbers from call centers, telemarketers and other “known annoyances”, by consulting user feedback.
• Whooming – if you have received anonymous calls, all the above services are unable to tell you who is calling you with a private or unknown number. In this specific case you must contact this service which uses the call forwarding technique to reveal to the user the identity of the unknown number from which the call comes.
