How to make green dye in Minecraft
Building is a big part of Minecraft. You might like exploring mine shafts or searching for shipwrecks, or maybe you’re just trying to get to the End to kill a dragon, but construction will always be part of what you do. Many people play Minecraft exclusively to build things and Minecraft offers them different types of blocks to build.
Dyes in Minecraft
All blocks in Minecraft have a specific purpose, specific properties, color, and texture. For most blocks, the color of a block cannot be changed unless you apply a resource pack or texture. With that said, there is a small set of blocks that can be stained. Common blocks that can be stained are concrete, wool and terracotta, collars worn by domesticated animals, leather armor, etc.
As for dying, you must make the dye from other items drawn in the game. The stain, once done, should be applied to the block you wish to stain.
Green tint in Minecraft
To make green dye, you need;
- Cactus
- Fuel (coal, wood, algae)
Get cactus
Cacti or cacti are naturally found in desert biomes. These plants can damage a player and other mobs, but they are easy to extract. You can break them with your hand without taking any damage. A single cactus block can be placed in a sand block and it will grow into a full-size cactus, which means you can grow as much plant as you need.
Make green dye in Minecraft
Assuming you have lots of cactus blocks and lots of fuel, you’re good to go green dye.
- Open an oven.
- Put fuel in the fuel cell.
- Place the cactus on the casting block.
- When the process is complete, collect the green dye.
Apply green tint to the item
The dyeing process for different items is different, but normally, you should place one of the items with a block of dye on the crafting table. For some items, eg terracotta, you need to dye eight blocks at a time, while for others, like wool, you can only dye one block at a time. The same dye can be used for different items, but the brewing recipe will be different. For collars, all you have to do is hold the dye and use the place item / use item action on the domesticated animal.
conclusion
The dying process is usually permanent. You cannot remove the color of items like wool or terracotta, but you can always change the color of your cat or dog’s collar. If you are dying blocks to use in a large build make sure you know what the color looks like when laid with everything else before staining it and you cannot undo the staining process.
