You don’t have to look elsewhere to start generating photos appropriate for the season we are in in Latin America. Google photos, a feature that was part of the defunct Google Plus (+) and which became a separate app and service after the failure of the latter, allows you to easily create animations and do things like put a snow or rain effect on photos saved on your Android device.

It is not as simple as shaking or shaking the device so that the snow is added as if by magic (something we did have in Google Plus and the Auto Awesome functionality), but with a couple of editions and apps we will get the same animation. Once the result is ready, you can save the animation in GIF format to share it on social networks.

Put the snow and rain in the photo

The first step in creating the falling rain and snow animation is to “paint” this effect on at least two photos, and then make a transition between these two photos to achieve the indicated effect.

To put that snow and rain there are many apps on Google Play that will allow you to do this easily, but I recommend using the application Just Snow, which you can download here.
Simply open the app, tap on it to upload a photo and with the lower controls add the snow or rain. Save the result with the “Save” button at the top.
Repeat the process by opening the same photo again, but this time change the style of the snow so that the animation can be noticed when transitioning between the two photos.

Create the animation

Open the app Google photos.
Tap the three-striped button at the top to open the menu.
Select “Device Folders”.
Tap on the «Just Snow» folder.
Hold down on the first photo that we created in the previous process and after the multiple selection is activated, touch on the second photo.
Press the “+” button at the top and then choose “Animation.”

The animation will be created with both photos in GIF format. You can use the “Share” button at the bottom to save the photo or put the animation on your social networks.
