Review TridentZ Royal 3200MHz 2x8GB [F4-3200C16D-16GTRS]  – Testing | Perfomance | Specs | Details | Overclocking – The RAM memories in recent times have developed great changes, both in technology that enhance their performance as well as in aesthetic aspects, it is in the latter where G. Skill has gone further, developing a variation in his most famous line, we talk about G. Skill TridentZ Royal.

This series of G. Skill brings with it an aesthetic that points to a more “premium” user where from the aspects of performance as a detailed aesthetic are important factors. With a mirror finish on the heatsinks and lighting that seeks to simulate diamonds and / or precious rocks, G. Skill creates a concept that shows his RAM memories as jewels within the platform.

G. Skill brings this series in a wide variety of options, from frequency ranging from 3000MHz to 4600MHz surprises, and if capacity in 16GB (8GBx2) kits up to 128GB (16GBx8).

First look.

Gone is the blister with which we usually see the RAM. To give a more premium look to these memories, G. Skill decides to present them in a package

Inside we find the already known sticker of G. Skill, and next to it a small cloth to keep the memories bright. Apparently G. Skill took things seriously.

Finding the memories, we see a mirror finish on the heatsink that confirms the use of the cloth we saw earlier.

The design of the heatsink remains in relation to the TridetnZ series, the great difference in this being the finish that G.Skill gives it

The diffusers of the LEDs have a diamond texture.

The diamond texture gives these memories a unique visual.

Overclocking.

G. Skill has but one of the most important manufacturers in what has been overclocking, it is the memory manufacturer chosen by the most important overclockers in the world and it is clearly because of the overclocking potential that it brings in the vast majority of families that G. Skill owns.

TridentZ models are those that are at the highest potential for overclocking, however the Royal variation may give a difference in this section, considering that they are memories that point more to their aesthetics than to their top performance attributes.

The G. Skill TridentZ Royal although they are memories that share a family with the most recognized models in the world of overclocking, in this version their strength is not aimed at this section. If we compare with other models of the TridentZ series the models used in this review do not have a great potential for overclocking, which does not mean that the other versions do not have such potential, this happens especially when you want to reduce latencies, tend to deliver instability just by touching the occasional timming.

Conclusion.

Through a series with a refined and highly finished aesthetic from the moment it is taken out of its packaging, G. Skill points with this Royal series to a select group within the RAM memory market. G. Skill distributes this TridentZ model to a wide segment, from 16GB to 128GB and from 300MHz to 4600MHz.

Considering that we are facing a series of RAM memory that seeks to give different aesthetic attributes to your platform to what other G.Skill models deliver, the design of the heatsinks could have been different. Although TridentZ series heatsinks have an aggressive and very robust character, not to mention attractive, these attributes may not be correct considering what you want to target with this series, perhaps more rounded endings and even to the memory PCB golden or of a different tone to the rest, they could have been attractive elements to differentiate these memories from the rest, since it is currently the same as the “gamers” models of TridentZ but with mirror finish on the heatsink and LEDs that thanks to the diffuser look like “Diamonds.”

Despite reaching an overclock with almost 13% more, if you left us a little pleasure considering that they are the top models of G. Skill, especially when trying to tighten the latencies.

In what is performance as such, it seems that the configuration of latencies in CAS 16 does not affect at all in global applications, such as video games or productivity that do not depend 100% on the memories, which is only possible to notice the differences of these when benchmarks are applied that point directly to the memories.

The G.Skill TridentZ Royal are a series more than offering top performance, it is to deliver a more “ostentatious” visual to your platform, although RGB already delivers a visual improvement, the feeling of “diamonds” in RGB lighting and finishing The heatsink mirror gives the platform a unique look in the world of memories, so if you like modding or just show that you have a visually attractive platform, these are the memories you need inside your computer.
