Test – Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 Rev. B: Specs | Price | CPU | Profitability| Hashrate| best Coins | Config | Advantage (Pros) and Disadvantages (Cons) and other important features that will help you make better decision.

Today is another big day at Conseil Config! Indeed I am going to present to you the first product of the Nanoxia brand to pass through my hands, and it is neither more nor less than a big box specially designed for the silence that I particularly like, I have named the Deep Silence 5 in its second revision. Nanoxia is not a newcomer to the world of components but is rather discreet in France, there are not a lot of tests or products available from French web merchants, is this something that should be changed? We’ll see that right away!

On the program we are in front of a good big and spacious case capable of accommodating an E-ATX motherboard, equipped with removable hard drive cages, everything you need to make the beast silent, dust filters as well as everything that we find in a modern box, it is marketed at a price of around 120 € which places it in a very busy niche and it will need a lot of assets to stand out!

The least that we can say is that Nanoxia did not do in the lace with its Deep Silence 5, and this at all levels! On the motherboard side, it will be possible to install all types on the market, ranging from a mini-ITX (the interest being however very limited) to an E-ATX, so no worries about accounting .

The dimensions of the beast are also rather generous with a length of 55 cm for 55.2 cm of height and 23.2 cm of width for a rather enormous weight of 16.2 kg, as much to say that a configuration well loaded based on SLI and large coolers. / watercooling system will have no trouble finding its place in the box. Still regarding the dimensions the graphics card is entitled to 33.8 cm in length when the hard drive cage is installed for 46.8 cm when it is removed, I wish you good luck in finding a monster that will not fit in there! The CPU cooler is however not in rad with a maximum height of 18.5 cm, enough to accommodate once again the biggest monsters on the market such as the Noctua NH-D15 or the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3!

With regard to storage there too it is the big game with no less than 11 3.5 ″ (2.5 ″ compatible) slots dispatched on 3 cages (5 + 3 + 3) or 8 3.5 ″ slots (2.5 ″ compatible) and 6 2.5 ″ slots (via a cage that can be installed in one of the 2 cages of 3 3.5 ″ slots), which quite honestly covers all types of uses. The 5.25 ″ peripherals are not left out, however, with 4 bays that can accommodate whatever you want to install there!
Ventilation was also not left out, the Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 rev. B can accommodate a total of 6 fans, 2 x 12/14 cm front (2 x 14 cm 1100 RPM fans supplied), 1 x 12/14 cm rear (14 cm 1100 RPM supplied), 2 x 12 / 14 at the top as well as 1 x 12/14 cm at the bottom of the case, cooling can therefore be provided by a good number of fans if the need arises.

That’s not all! Nanoxia has also thought of fans of silence (which is normal when you see the model) by offering foam wherever it is possible to put it (side doors, front doors as well as on the top part), disc carts hard equipped with rubbers, the power supply will also rest from the rubber pads and finally there are 2 rheobus adjustable via a slider (therefore customizable as possible). The dust filters are of course present and removable.
Offered at a price of around 120 € and given the features unless you do it on purpose the Deep Silence 5 rev. B should be an excellent case, but before jumping to the conclusion it will have to be put to the test 🙂

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_boite2
Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_boite1

The box is very sober, a mixture of white and black which announces the color! On the front there are drawings of the beast, in windowed version or not as well as a listing of the main features such as easy access to fans, modular hard drive cages, 2 rheobus etc. diagram showing the inside of the case offers a detailed listing of all the parts, at least we will not be caught off guard once the beast is open!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_boite3

On the sides there are tables showing the complete technical characteristics of the Deep Silence 5 rev. B, in this in several different languages!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_boite4

When opening the box we fall on the box in its plastic bag caught between 2 thick foams to ensure the safest possible transport.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_bundle

The bundle consists of:

  • 6 x 3.5 ″ / 2.5 ″ disc carts
  • 1 x 5.25 ″ / 2.5 ″ adapter
  • 1 x 24-pin extension
  • 1 x rallonge 4+4-pin CPU
  • 4 x covers full of hoses for watercooling
  • 5 x plastic cable ties
  • 1 x end cap to fix the motherboard spacers
  • 1 x Manuel
  • The necessary screws in individual and labeled bags

As we can see Nanoxia clearly did not go hand in hand with the accessories! I can even say that it is the most provided that I have seen in a box at this price (and often even more expensive), everything has been planned so that the buyer does not lack anything ( 24-pin and 4 + 4-pin extensions which are quite honestly a great addition, 5.25 ″ -> 3.5 ″ adapter etc ..) as well as the assembly is done as easily as possible (screws in individual and labeled bags). There are even full covers which can replace the open ones which are installed on the box as standard and which are responsible for passing any watercooling pipes!
You will understand that there is really not the slightest criticism to be made with Nanoxia regarding the bundle, many manufacturers should take example.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b

Here is the beast! The least we can say is that Nanoxia is sober, indeed there is not the slightest touch of madness here. The design is undoubtedly very close to what can be seen in all silent-oriented boxes (like the Fractal Design R4 / R5 for example), except perhaps the presence of 2 doors at the front, in any case fans of sober case will be delighted!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_devant1

What about the front side except that there is not the slightest extravagance, there is a white front that could not be more sober. Two doors are present and will allow access to the 5.25 ″ peripherals at the top and the fans at the bottom, nothing that changes the ordinary. The build quality is pretty good here.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_devant2

Once the doors are open, you can see on the upper part the 4 5.25 ″ covers, the 2 rheobus as well as the reset button. At the bottom the 2 fans are installed behind removable dust filters, let’s see it all more closely.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_devant3

Each door is equipped with foam inside, in order to muffle as much as possible the potential noise nuisance which would come from the front of the box.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_devant5

The 2 rheobus are not notched like many and therefore offer very fine adjustments thanks to the 2 sliders, it will be possible to adjust the fans installed as we see fit!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_devant4

Each fan is installed in a mini plastic door which will allow easy access to the latter, making cleaning and installation much easier.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_devant6_filtre

A removable dust filter is present in front of each of these doors, everything is planned!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_devant_ventilateur

The fans are Deep Silence 140 of the brand, given to run at a maximum of 1100 RPM, an amximale consumption of 1.68 Watt, a maximum sound level of 14.4 dB and an MTBF of 80,000 hours, they should logically s’ turn out to be very silent.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_dessus

Above there is not much to say, 2 honeycomb grilles for 12/14 cm fans (equipped with covers) as well as the connectors and the power button.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_dessus_connectique

The connection is made up of 2 x USB 2.0, 2 x USB 3.0, 2 x 3.5 mm jack (microphone and headset) as well as of course the power button.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_dessous

Underneath there are plastic feet fitted with rubber to isolate the case from the surface on which it rests as well as a large dust filter which covers the location of the power supply as well as the optional fan.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_arriere

At the rear, everything has been done to have maximum ventilation, we find it wherever possible. In addition to the vents, there are 4 rubber hoses for external water-cooling (which can be replaced by full covers) and 10 openwork brackets. The build quality is good here there is nothing to complain about.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_cote

On the sides it’s dead calm, everything is white and no items are present except the ventilation holes in the front that will allow the fans to breathe.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_panneau1
Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_exterieur_panneau2

The panels are the heaviest I have ever tested, in addition to the thickness of the steel used there is foam inside, 2 types to be precise! The panel on the back side of the motherboard (right) features a material very similar to what is found on the Fractal Design R5 (hard and compact) while the panel that overlooks the components is fitted with a more traditional foam (a little less compact) in the shape of a honeycomb.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur

Here is the interior of the beast! As you can see the design is very classic here, but there is a lot! 3 cages for the disks, lots of cable glands, 10 extension brackets, covers etc. Let’s take a closer look!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_525

We start with the part dedicated to 5.25 ″ devices, 4 can be installed and all are without tools, it will however be possible to remove the clips without tools and fix everything in the old way with screws if the device is not designed to cover the entire location (such as a rheobus for example, or a card reader).

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_cages_hdd1
Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_cages_hdd2

There are a total of 3 cages for installing the drives, the top one is removable by removing the thumbscrews at the top and bottom while the other 2 can be removed via screws located below the case. As can be seen in the photo the cage at the bottom right is equipped with another cage specially designed to accommodate 2.5 ″ drives / SSDs, it can be removed to put the 3.5 ″ disc carriages that we find in the bundle. One thing is certain, it will be possible to shield the Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 rev. B of disks 😉

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_alimentation

The part devoted to the power supply is entitled to preferential treatment with regard to possible noise pollution, in fact there are 4 rubber feet which will allow the power supply to be raised and to isolate it from the box (in case of possible vibrations) as well as foam on the rear wall, Nanoxia clearly does not want her to vibrate the tower!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_equerres_pcie

The brackets are all perforated in order to let the possible air flow through and fixed by hand screws, a total of 10 to have fun with the expansion cards!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_passe_cables

A significant number of rubber grommets are present everywhere, enough to pass the cables where we want and make the assembly as clean as possible!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_trous_watercooling

Above the fan, 4 rubber hoses are present in order to adapt to a large external water-cooling system if necessary, as I said it is possible to install the full covers delivered in the bundle instead. .

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_dessus

Above and always for the sake of silence, the 2 covers are equipped with foam, and are removable. We also notice that the foam is installed above the cage of 5.25 ″ devices, it does not eat bread!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_ventilateur
Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_ventilateur_cable_tresse

The fan is the same as the ones at the front, 14 cm for a maximum rotation speed of 1100 RPM, the cable is also sheathed and of very good quality.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_connectiques1

The connection could not be more classic, but the cables are all black and of a very long enough length to connect anywhere on the motherboard.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_connectiques2

In addition to the classic connectors, there are 6 connectors for 3-pin fans, distributed over 2 rheobus and supplied by a Molex connector.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_interieur_arriere

At the back apart from the plethora of cable glands there is not much to say, everything is very clean and there will be plenty of room to pass all the cables necessary for the proper functioning of the configuration!

Read This Now:   I5-12600K benchmarks leaked on CPU-Z and AIDA64, showing the power of DDR5-6400 memory

The configuration used during the tests is as follows:

A rather large configuration therefore due to its huge cooler and the 3 slots taken by the graphics card. The Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 rev. B will be tested once with the fans at minimum and once at most with only the SSD connected. Another test will take place at least with the Raptor hard drive connected, it being literally hell in terms of its vibrations that will allow to see the effectiveness of the silentblocs.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_config_montee

The assembly in the Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 Rev.B went very well, given the space available it is not really surprising! The components are easily installed, the coolers breathe and have all the space they need and the cables at the back have plenty of space.

In order to test the box, I will carry out an OCCT Power Supply test for 30mins and then take the temperatures of the main components such as the processor (average of the 4 cores), the motherboard, the graphics card as well as the hard drive.
Regarding noise pollution, I will proceed as in the file on silent PCs namely 1 statement in front, right, left, rear and above.

The Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 rev. B will face the case used for the silent pc backrest, the Corsair Carbide 300R modified for the needs of the same backrest as well as the be quiet! Silent base 800, Cooler Master Silencio 652S, the Fractal Design Define R5, the Aerocool DS200 as well as the NZXT H440. The choice of boxes is not random, all these boxes are rather silent so the Deep Silence 5 will have a lot to do!

Repos

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_resultats_repos_temperatures

The temperatures at rest in the Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 rev.B are very good, at the level of the best cases in the comparison with 31 ° for the processor, 30 ° for the graphics card and 33 ° for the motherboard with the fans at minimum and 33 ° for the processor, 31 ° for the graphics card and 34 ° for the motherboard at least, the difference is minimal and this proves that the air flow and the space are well optimized in the case.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_resultats_repos_level_sonore

Ambient sound level: 31dB

Once again very good here, with the fans at a minimum the readings do not exceed 34 dB at the rear for 32 dB at the front and above, we are at the level of the best boxes of the comparison once again. When we add the Raptor hard drive on the other hand the sound level increases drastically to reach 36 dB at the rear, nothing that does not however make the eardrums explode and it will certainly be very quiet for most people but purists will hear them. vibrations is a certainty.

Once set to the maximum the fans are heard quite logically but the noise remains contained with 39 dB at the rear, the rheobus will however be there to regulate the fans installed on them (in total of 6 I remind you). .

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_resultats_repos_PWM

Nothing to report here, as the vast majority of cases in the test, the fans remain at their base RPM, ie 600 RPM for the processor and 500 RPM for the graphics card.

Charge

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_resultats_charge_temperatures

In load the case clearly does not disappoint, with a maximum of 68 ° for the graphics card, 65 ° for the processor and 40 ° for the motherboard with the fans at least there is no doubt that the Deep Silence 5 rev . B will be able to keep the configuration assigned to it cool while remaining discreet. Once the fans are pushed to the maximum the difference is not obvious with only a few degrees of difference, we go from 65 ° to 62 ° for the processor, 68 ° to 65 ° for the graphics card and from 40 ° to 38 ° for the motherboard, the difference is there but not that marked. Quite honestly, given the results, you might as well leave the fans to a minimum!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_resultats_charge_level_sonore

Ambient sound level: 31dB

The load readings confirm what I observed at rest, in fact with the fans at least the Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 rev. B is at the same level as the best silent-oriented boxes on the market, and that’s clearly not nothing! Indeed we arrive at a maximum of 35 dB at the rear for 32 dB at the front and above when the fans are at a minimum, the addition of the Raptor hard drive once again increases the readings as seen at rest to switch at 38 dB at the rear, again this will still be good for the majority of people but not for the purists!

Once .the fans are at maximum, however, the sound level does not change compared to rest, as the fans of the box generate more noise than the components there is no difference, and it is rather good for a machine under load!

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_resultats_charge_PWM

The speed of the fans managed in PWM reflects the good performance of the unit under load, in fact, thanks to the available space and the good air flow, the processor fans go from 880 RPM to 850 RPM respectively from “High” to “Low” and from 640 RPM to 600 RPM for the graphics card fans, the results are very good and the available space certainly helps here.

Nanoxia_deep_silence_5_rev_b_random

Here we are at the end of this test, what to say about the Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 rev. B?
For a first Nanoxia case test I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised, the case is certainly heavy but at the same time we feel that it is made to last, it will be able to hold several configurations without the slightest problem to be done at the level of materials, the build quality is good and the painting very well done. What clearly sets the Deep Silence 5 rev.B apart from other boxes is the bundle, in fact Nanoxia has thought of everything so that the assembly takes place with the least possible problem, 24-pin and 4 + 4-pin extensions, additional 3.5 ″ trolleys (in case the 2.5 ″ cage is not used), individual bags labeled for the screws etc … which is to say a total!

With the available space, it is also possible to modulate the 3 disc cages, in order to install water-cooling radiators and / or to allow a better air flow to pass, places for water-cooling pipes are available, cable glands are everywhere, dust filters wherever needed, 2 rheobus, covers with foam on the locations of unused fans, and speaking of foam no found on the 2 panels as well.

In terms of performance, it is also very good whether in “Low” or “High” position, the components are very well cooled and silence is required, at the level of the best silent-oriented boxes on the market!
Offered at a price of around 120 € (on the PC-cooling website here) in 3 different colors, white, black and gray, the Nanoxia Deep Silence 5 is undoubtedly an excellent case for those looking for something durable, heavy, quiet and spacious for a quiet pc!
