Google Meet is another Google service that has a considerably large user base. It has seen significant growth over the past two years as work has moved online for many people. Google Meet has done quite well in serving users, but like any service, it can be disrupted.

Google itself does not publish an outage map for any of its services. Users can visit the service status page for Google products to see if a service is down, but it usually doesn’t tell you which areas / regions are affected by an outage.

For historical Google Meet outage data, visit the Google Service Status page. Scroll to the bottom and click View History. The history page will show you past outages of all Google services. Search for Google Meet here and you can see when the service was last down.

Select a service outage instance and the details will include which regions were affected by the outage. The regions will be listed and won’t show up on a map, but they get the job done.

Google services rarely fail around the world. Disruptions are usually partial, that is, they only affect a particular region. That said, the affected region can be large, for example Asia-Pacific. These outages tend to last a few hours at most, and Google is quick to fix the problem for its part. If your region has a Google Meet outage, you can try using a VPN and you can connect to the server in a different region; however, the quality of the call may be affected. It is best to wait for the problem to be resolved or to temporarily switch to an alternative service.
